If the customer installs solar panels with a peak power of 4.3 kWp (example for an installation with nine 475-Wp panels) with a 5 kWh battery and a production of 1,327 kWh/kWp, the annual production would be 5,680 kWh/year. If the self-consumption is 62.5% (energy produced by the panels used by household appliances/lighting/air conditioning, etc., in the home or business, 26.1% of which is stored in the battery), there will be a surplus of 37.3% (energy produced by the panels and fed back into the grid, not used for self-consumption), resulting in an annual self-consumption savings of €561, a surplus compensation of €232/year and a battery savings of €358/year; therefore, the user will save €1,151/year (assuming an average market price of €0.209/kWh and an average price at which the surplus is compensated of €0.086/kWh). Comparing the value paid without self-consumption per year in the variable term of the electricity bill (€1,200/year) with what is saved with self-consumption thanks to the solar installation (€1,151/year), the user will save 96% (1,151/1,200 = 0.96). With the intelligent management of the solar battery plus, the total savings would be over €1,200, yielding a 100% reduction in the electricity bill. The cost of installing the panels does not take into account in this calculation, and will depend on the number of panels to be installed.
